John Auld (born 7 January 1862 in Lugar, Scotland died 1932) was a Scottish footballer who played for Sunderland and the Scotland national football team as a Central defender. Auld played for Sunderland during 1890 to 1895 where he won two League Championships, in; 1892 and 1893.[1] After making 100 league appearances and scoring 5 goals, Auld left Sunderland for their arch rivals, Newcastle United.
He gained his first cap for Scotland on 19 March 1887 against England where they won 3–2.[2] He went on to make 4 caps for his country scoring no goals.[3]
